Harmony Choir:
Length: Alternate days for 1 year
Prerequisite: None
Course Description: A one-year course with unlimited enrollment meeting alternate days. Receives ½ credit per semester. Teaching of basic elements of music, including pitch and rhythm and appreciation of various styles, and understanding and improving correct vocal techniques will be incorporated into class rehearsal. Required performances include all scheduled concerts, of which there will be three per year. Additional opportunities (not required) include Opus (by audition), State Solo/Ensemble Contest, Swing Choir (by audition), and Honor Choir Festivals. Grading will be based on class participation, required lessons, and performance and written tests over material covered in class.
Concert Choir:
Length: Alternate days for 1 year
Prerequisite: None
Course Description: This is a one-year course, meeting alternate days, receiving ½ credit per semester. Chorale:

Prerequisite: Audition required
Course Description: This choir is by audition only. This is primarily a performance ensemble. Membership is contingent upon the following:
· Students must have above average reading capabilities.
· Students must be able to match pitch and recognize simple rhythm patterns.
This class will be every other day and receive ½ credit per semester. Grading will be based upon lesson attendance, class participation, performance and written tests, and concert attendance. Other opportunities will be All-State, State Solo/Ensemble Contest, Swing Choir (by audition), and Honor Choir Festivals (by recommendations).
